Daven is doing awesome in 1st grade. He reads so much that it's mind-boggling. Every night he begs to read a story (as long as dad does funny stuff on each page).
I'll be heading out to Texas next week for the Austin Film Festival. That will be fun to see on the online buddies and hobnob with some famous movie writers. I've been working all day while taking care of kids, so a break will be nice. Daven's loft is progressing. I got the hole in the roof patched from the old kitchen vent. I hope to get the electrical done before I leave. Then it will be framing, insulation, and sheetrock. Fun stuff!
So we got her on Friday and went around and met everyone. Dusty didn't know everyone from her first time here (six years ago) so that was nice. Saturday some people came over, and we stayed up late talking about America and Deutschland and all that. Sunday we went and saw a live band (Called Geration X). People just don't believe me when I tell that Germans can listen to the same old 20 songs for the rest of their lives.
Monday we went to a great castle that I saw two years ago (called Schloss baldern). With the largest collection of medieval weapons in Germany.
Tuesday we went shopping in Ulm. Wednesay we went back to Ulm and climbed to the top of the Muenster - The tallest church in the world. Dusty thought she was going to die. I've been playing lots of soccer lately, so it wasn't so bad. I'll send pics of that later.
Thursday, JAckson and I practiced with his soccer team (The Reichenbach GassenKnaller - say that 5 times fast). Then today, we've been watching DVDs on Jackson's new computer that I helped him set up.
It's been fun, and we have a bit more time. It's 2:40 now, so I want to hit the sack. We might go see Gen X again tomorrow and hear those 20 songs again. :)
Tchuss! Bis nächste mal.
